Shirley Alice Johnson

Shirley P. Johnson, 94, of Hot Springs Village departed to her Heavenly Home on Friday, May 1, 2015, in the care of Hospice at Good Samaritan in Hot Springs Village.

She was born December 26, 1920 to Florence and Percy Patterson in Chicago, Illinois. Shirley met the love of her life, Philip A. Johnson in 1943 on a blind date and on April 1, 1944 they were joined in Holy Matrimony.

Shirley and Philip retired to the village in 1983 from Clarendon Hills, IL, living on Lake DeSoto, and then relocated to Cedar Lodge at Good Samaritan in May 2006.

Shirley was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed volunteering at the hospital, playing golf, bridge, bowling, traveling and entertaining.

She was an active member of Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines where she enjoyed participating in bible studies and Presbyterian Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Philip. She is survived by her three daughters, Pamela (Chuck) Sinex, Priscilla (Thomas) Hayek and Penelope (Daniel) Willey; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on June 13^th at 11:00 am at Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines, 275 Arturias Drive, Hot Springs Village, followed by a reception.
